My career in makeup began in my early teens. Growing up I suffered from a serious case of bad acne and eyebrows that clearly had a mind of their own. I was constantly being teased. Finally, after much torture and humiliation my mom was kind enough to take me to the dermatologist and our local MAC cosmetics counter. A very sweet, twenty-something girl sat me down in the chair and guided me through the entire process of how to apply my makeup. It was the first time in a very long time that I actually felt beautiful. From that moment on, makeup was my passion. I would sit in my bathroom for hours playing with eye shadows, glitters, and lipsticks. I was always practicing, doing my best to prefect my makeup technique.
In early 2007, I decided to take a break from my college education to pursue a career in makeup. I applied at the same MAC counter where the very sweet girl had first introduced me to the makeup world. The day I was hired was one of the best days of my life. The rest is pretty much history. I have continued to work for MAC cosmetics on and off for the last seven and half years. For a short time I also worked for a small yet very prestigious cosmetic company called Le Metier De Beaute. While working at MAC I received consistent and thorough training on proper technique, theory, and trends.
In October of 2012 I married Nick, the love of my life, and in February 2013 I gave birth to our son Greyson. However, when my maternity leave was completed I found it very difficult to leave my son behind. So I made the very difficult decision to leave my job at MAC to stay at home with my son. Yet, I knew I could not leave my makeup career behind altogether. So I decided to start my own freelance business where I could make my own schedule, work one on one with clients, and still be a stay-at-home mommy.
My clients can always expect a full-service, luxury experience. My goal is for each client leave my chair feeling like an even more beautiful version of themselves. I also pride myself on education. Whether its on better makeup application techniques, or keeping them up-to-date and always looking on-trend. I want to empower women to love who they are and to be proud of the beautiful features that God gave them.
